Marching Band Parent Club
The JFK Band Parents Club is a booster club for the Marching Band and Color Guard. The booster club meets monthly to run fund-raisers, organize band events and provide additional support to the band program. Parent volunteers often chaperone, move equipment, create meals on trips and other necessary functions to help band students. All parents/guardians of band students are members. All events are voluntary, but many of our boosters find that helping their students perform is a very rewarding experience.

This is your opportunity to leave your creative mark at JFK! Any student who has taken an art class or is currently taking an art class with a grade of B or higher is eligible to join the club. Students who complete their hours and fundraise or pay dues will receive a certificate and special NAHS cords to wear at graduation. We meet on Wednesdays in F-1.
If you have any questions please contact Advisor: Kelly Graves, Room F1.

The applications are turned over to a five member faculty committee who select members based on their Scholarship, Character, Community Service, and Leadership on campus and in the community. Robotics Club
Robotics promotes teens to get the hands on learning that is challenging and fun. The students learn programming language (same language used in industry today), mechanical engineering and mechanics, electronics, the use of tools, how to design, how to problem solve under pressure, and how to collaborate as a team for a joint vision/goal.
The students have to understand the specifications of the contest rules, how to work with inspectors and judges to work through concern while under pressure. There are many other studies that support "learning by doing" is the way students get their learning into their long-term memories and really learn.
This program gives its participants the real world application to theory which prepares them to be successful in the work environment.

I'm pretty sure we are just voicing our opinions. But you could always start a club that you want by getting together some other students, finding a teacher to be your adviser, and going to the Student Activities Director to get the paperwork for your club to be allowed. That's always fun.
